Heart's plight
In the depths of my soul, emotions stray, My foolish heart's tangled in disarray. Always I plunge into love's quick embrace, Though avoidance would save me, I still chase.
She does not return the love I hold dear, Deep down, I know this, yet still persevere. Now the path we tread leads to despair, Oh, see where we're bound, the road we share.
Yet, in reflection, I find clarity's sight, 'Tis not my heart's fault, but my own delight. I must learn to guard and choose with care, To save my fragile heart from undue despair.
For love is a treasure, meant to be found, But rushing headlong may bring me to the ground. So I'll heed the lessons, my heart will defend, And in wiser steps, my journey shall mend.
